O'Neill's Adventureland
"Something for mum and something for dad, something for grandma and old grandad..."
Located in southwestern Sydney at Edmondson Park, O'Neill's Adventureland saw its "glory days" in the 1970's and 80's. It was promoted as a family destination, famous for its water slide, wart hog ghost train and dodgem cars. From birthday parties to BBQs, corporate events to good old fashioned family outings, many enjoyed the Adventureland grounds during its operation. The park and its rides have also been featured in films such as Hostage, Babe, Power Rangers and Ghost Rider.
The owner still tours rides and equipment to different locations, but the park itself has been closed for years. Adventureland met the same fate as other fun parks in the region such as African Lion Safari, Magic Kingdom and Wonderland Sydney that are no longer in operation.
Adventureland is the last remaining fun park in Western Sydney, and its permanent closure is imminent as the land is destined for redevelopment.
